IECEP NATIONAL ON A JOURNEY FOR MEMBERSHIP AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
The start of IECEP year is observed as the beginning of a long and winding journey for the National Officers and Board of Directors. The journey is expected to be breathtaking and fruitful as it will be joined by members of the Institute. At the end, the planned programs and projects for membership and professional developments are hopefully anticipated to be achieved.
VISITS TO LOCAL CHAPTER
So far, the National Board was able to visit, or provided technical seminars and or was able to meet personally the officers and members of the following:
NORTHERN MINDANAO CHAPTER
WEST VISAYAS CHAPTER
CALABARZON REGIONAL CHAPTER
|BATANGAS CHAPTERMINDORO CHAPTER
CAGAYAN VALLEY CHAPTER
VISAYAS REGIONAL CHAPTER
It was observed that there is a renewed enthusiasm among the officers and members in the chapters. And it is expected that the visitation and “meet, greet and discuss” with IECEP officers and members would result to a greater collaboration among all stakeholders.
The National Board also ventured on a new scheme in conducting its required monthly board meetings. Instead of doing it in function rooms and in “borrowed” space owned by an APO, the board, so far, has conducted meetings in the board rooms of the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) and Smart Communications, Inc. Board rooms of ABS-CBN, Globe Telecom, Bayan Telecommunications and other are next to be visited. This method of holding meetings will provide an opportunity for the Institute to meet and collaborate with the industry players.
There are a number of in house policies currently instituted by IECEP. These policies are intended to govern the day-to-day activities of IECEP National Office. A Manual of Governance which is intended to guide IECEP operation (National & Chapters) is also expected to be out within the year

The Chairmanship of the Technical Committee for ECE of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has been turned-over to IECEP. IECEP STUDENT CHAPTERS
Recognizing that students are the future of the Institute, the Board has responded to numerous requests from Colleges and Universities for seminars and trainings. And although the Institute has a thinned roster of lecturers, they are able to provide the same. IECEP is now calling for more volunteers to act as lecturers.
TECHNICAL & NON-TECHNICAL TRAININGS/SEMINARS
Aside from the traditional technical seminars, the Institute has included in its program some non-technical trainings and seminars for students and professionals. These non-technical seminars and trainings include among others the Management Seminar & Leadership Training.
